First and foremost Joleena is a believer in Jesus Christ and takes her faith very seriously. She loves to incorporate faith, fasting, prayer, and scripture into the healing journey for all clients who believe. Joleena believes that true healing can come only through Jesus Christ and has experienced and seen His healing hand and faithfulness free people from lives of addiction, demonic oppression and possession. She has also witnessed and experienced His healing hand on trauma and physical ailments. Joleena Abrams received an 18 hour long training and Certificate of Completion in Treating Sexual Addiction: the Recovery Capital Model through ADDO Recovery with Dr. Kevin Skinner, she is trained as a Clinical Trauma Professional, trained as an Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional (CAIMHP), she is a Certified Multichannel Eye Movement Practitioner (CMEMI), Certified Functional Medicine and Trauma Specialist (CFMTS), Betrayal Trauma Coach (BTC), a Certified Clinical Trauma & Addiction Specialist (CCTAS), received an Understanding Sex Addiction as a Behavioral Addiction Certificate through NAADAC, and has her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and her Masters of Psychology in Grief Counseling. Joleena previously worked for ADDO Recovery as a Betrayal Trauma Coach on Bloom for Women in 2019 and 2020 while also coaching clients in private practice for addiction and betrayal trauma. Joleena specializes in working with couples working through betrayal and addiction of all kinds. She also works with clients that are struggling with anxiety, addiction, depression, PTSD, emotional abuse, mental abuse and trauma of various kinds. Her passion is to provide a safe space for her clients and to walk hand-in-hand with them, guiding them through the healing process and roadmap by educating them, and providing the tools they need to heal and grow. She comes with a salutogenic approach believing that knowledge is power and that when people are given the tools, knowledge and encouragement, they can heal. She has been working as a Certified Life Coach since 2017 and has developed unique skills for working with Betrayal Trauma clients as well as Addicts. Joleena operates within her scope of practice as a Biblical Counselor, Ordained minister, Hypnotherapist, Certified Clinical Specialist - Trauma & Addiction, Certified Functional Medicine & Trauma Specialist, Certified Multichannel Eye Movement Integration Practitioner, Certified Life Coach, Health and Wellness Coach, and Betrayal Trauma Coach and does not provide diagnosis, psychotherapy, or mental health treatment in any way for any of her clients.

 

She uses state of the art techniques and modalities based off of the newest research, such as Hypnotherapy, Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI), EMDR techniques such as Bilateral Stimulation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Life Coaching, Emotional Freedom Techniques (Tapping), Mindfulness, Restoration Therapy techniques and is a former CSAT Candidate who attended Module 1 with IITAP which is 4.5 days long (30 hours) and part of the Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) training and is familiar in the CSAT model of sexual addiction recovery according to what was taught in Module 1 of this training (Joleena is not a CSAT or current CSAT Candidate, operates independently, and does not claim to have any current affiliation with IITAP or to represent their beliefs, perspectives, expertise, or label with her coaching).

 

Joleena brings a fresh perspective to the counseling experience with her unique ability to empathize with all clients where they are at. She also is able to maintain an objective, education based, unbiased perspective through the lense of trauma and her knowledge in biology, physiology, neurophysiology, and how the mind and body work. Joleena is confident that she can help you find the peace, freedom, and healing you are seeking in order for you to thrive regardless of faith or background.

Joleena is a mother and loves playing with and spending time with her children and her husband, Caleb. Her children and husband are priorities for her and making sure that her children have a secure attachment. Joleena has had a unassisted births, with her husband in their home, and is a huge proponent of women respecting and being in tune with their bodies and the way God made them to operate. She has a salutogenic view of health and wellness and believes our bodies are capable of healing and doing everything they were designed to do without interventions. She believes our job is to take care of the temple that God gave us so that it can operate the way He created it to. Joleena also has a thirst for knowledge and loves growing in skills to better help her clients. She loves being able to be a mother, business owner with her husband, and counselor, and balancing her passion for meeting with clients and her family.
